Countrywide will now payout 108 million in damages to it’s clients

Countrywide  Home Loans will now be paying out 108 million to clients that were charged excessive fees based on an agreement struck in June 2010 with the FTC. This is a landmark case–one of the biggest in the FTC’s history.

Countrywide logoMany of Countrywide’s former borrowers will receive somewhere between $500 to $5000 for the settlement. The company, now owned by Bank of America, is responsible for overcharging 450,000 customers.
