Verizon Staff Fired After Peeping Obamas Phone Records
Verizon staff who peaked at Obama's phone calls or texts were fired. Although Verizon defended itself saying that the staff would not have been able to see much of the records, others see it differently. This event has disturbed Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and a proponent of privacy laws, who believes phone record breaches are on the rise. "Verizon Wireless's Nelson would not say how many employees had been fired, or whether or not any employees who had accessed the records with authorization had been restored to their posts as stated by Lowell McAdam, president and CEO of Verizon Wireless in a statement on Friday, when news of the breach emerged. Microsoft Reveals Azure Cloud Strategy
Microsoft proposes a new product called Azure to compete in cloud technology or “cloud computing.” Azure OS would also mesh existing applications with web services. DevelopersConference in Los Angeles was where Microsoft introduced Windows Azure. This new product will serve PCs or server, as well as handhelds, mobile phones,and netbooks.

Online spending to rise by 2011
Internet advertising and access spending by U.S. consumers will rise each year by double digits on average through 2011, fueled by high-speed connections and social networking and entertainment sites. PricewaterhouseCoopers' Global Entertainment and Media Prediction expects combined spending on web-based advertising and fees paid by U.S. consumers to Internet providers will reach $78.4 billion by 2011, up from $47.2 billion in 2006. This is a 10.7 percent average annual growth rate. The United States has the world's largest online ad market, projected to grow to $35.4 billion by 2011. But China will surpass the United States and become the world's largest Internet territory in regards to users by 2009. [This is a prediction. ]

Past marketing and advertising techniques not working
Past methods in marketing are no longer succeeding because users are beginning to ignore or become hostel against the "brute force" advertising. Such advertising tries to win a small amount of users by blanket spamming or mass broadcasting by sheer volume, using abrasive web page banners, unrelated Adwords displayed on the page, or repeated newsletters, or SPAM bogus sites or SPAM emails. Such forms of marketing are unsuccessful and can even cause users to not trust your organization--thinking that it is not legitimate to use such techniques.

Internet use 'good for the brain'
University of California Los Angeles researchers discovered that using the internet to conduct searches helps centres in the brain that controlled decision-making and complex reasoning and may counteract the age-related physiological changes. The most recent study was based on 24 volunteers aged between 55 and 76.
